The Secret Service apparently will be paying comedian Kathy Griffin a visit in the near future.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ that the Secret Service has launched an investigation into “the circumstances surrounding the photo shoot” with famed photographer Tyler Shields.
After Griffin posted an image of her holding a mock, decapitated bloodied head of President Donald Trump, the agency tweeted “On it.”

The Secret Service added that threats against its protectees received the highest priority.
The agency also released a statement in response to the incident.
“The U.S. Secret Service has a critical mission. It is always unfortunate when people make statements that could be perceived as threats,” the statement read, according to ABC News. “We don’t have the luxury of knowing a person’s intent. Each alleged or perceived threat has to be investigated thoroughly which taxes Secret Service manpower and resources that could be utilized elsewhere.”
Many responded to Griffin’s viral image by calling on the Secret Service to take action.

Griffin has co-hosted CNN’s New Year’s Eve special with Anderson Cooper the last several years, but the network is now “evaluating” that relationship.
“We found what she did disgusting and offensive,” a CNN spokesperson said. “We are pleased to see she has apologized and asked that the photos be taken down. We are evaluating our New Year’s Eve coverage and have made no decisions at this point.”
Cooper tweeted that he was “appalled” by the photo.
Fox News contributor Todd Starnes suggested CNN’s advertisers could play a role in helping the network during its evaluation process.
The comedian posted a video on Tuesday evening apologizing for image, admitting what was obvious to people across the political spectrum, stating, “I went too far.”
Wednesday morning on Fox & Friends, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich asked a question many likely had following Griffin’s disturbing post.
“Imagine if somebody on the right had done that with a head of Barack Obama?” Gingrich said. “I think what was done by the comedian, by the Left, has grown into pathologies. Its radical values are so great that I think they are literally becoming dangerous.”
What do you think?
