Trump Response After Michelle Goes Low With Sick Insult
“When they go low, we go high.” Sound familiar? Anyone? Hello?
First lady Michelle Obama certainly seems to have forgotten her mantra in the wake of the 2016 election. She served up a heaping plate of “me, me, me” to Oprah Winfrey last week, enumerating her toughest moments, how time in the White House affected her, how painful the election was.
Put on the brakes, Michelle. You didn’t lose the election. Neither did your husband. That would be former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
And if we needed another reason to respect our president-elect, he didn’t take the bait. In Mobile, Alabama, on Saturday, the last stop of his “Thank You Tour,” Trump turned the other cheek.
“And I actually think she made that statement not meaning it the way it came out,” he said, according to The Hill.
That’s not to say that our new president will be a pushover. People who insult him get called out.
“Michelle Obama said yesterday that there’s no hope,” Trump told the New York Daily News. “I assume she was talking about the past, not the future — ’cause I’m telling you, we have tremendous hope, and tremendous promise.”
Trump also told the crowd that he visited the Obamas after the Nov. 8 election and MichObama “could not have been nicer.”
Obama perhaps forgets that Americans elected Trump. We want him in the White House. That alone is giving us hope by the boatload.
Please share via Facebook and Twitter to help spread that word that Donald Trump was gracious and restrained when Michelle Obama insulted both him and American voters.
What do you think of The Donald's response?
